Just talked to the nurse this afternoon. Dawn is doing fine. Is now down to 70% oxygen on the BiPAP and holding it 89 to 91 percent saturation. She desaturates to the low 80s when they take her mask off. Respiratory therapist says that she is just not ready yet to wear the AirVo.
Pray that she can get it off soon. She is struggling with her mouth and tongue being dry and scaly. I told the nurse to let her know I love her, and she does not have to worry about anything back at home. Just get better.
Also pray that she can have peace with that BiPAP on her face. She is claustrophobic. And I’m sure that that is really taking a toll. They had to give her a little bit of Ativan to calm her nerves today. I am not claustrophobic, but wearing that mask day in and day out would drive me absolutely bonkers. I think I would probably end up becoming claustrophobic. It would be very annoying.
I am pretty sure that my wife is going to be there probably through the month of September unless God throws a miracle out there and heals her quicker than that which I know He can! Let’s just pray that God will heal her to where she is able to come home safely back to her family!
